Eco Empowerment

Empowering 125 Families to become Self-Sufficient

WHAT

Eco-Empowerment

The “Eco-Empowerment” is a new project by Relief Foundation International (RFi) focused on planting 60,000 trees across 50 acres of land in Mirpurkhas, Sindh. This project aims to address environmental degradation while creating sustainable employment opportunities for over 125 families. Through this initiative, we are committed to enhancing the environment and fostering long-term economic growth.

WHAT

Roots of Empowerment Project

The Roots of Empowerment Project is an initiative by Relief Foundation International aimed at planting 3000 Date trees in interior Sindh, Pakistan. This project focuses on creating sustainable change by empowering communities through the cultivation of Date trees. Each tree symbolizes not just a source of income but a pathway to self-sufficiency for deserving families in the region.

WHY

Investing in Long-Term Impact

Pakistan is experiencing severe environmental issues due to insufficient tree planting. By investing in projects like the Eco-Empowerment, we tackle these issues head-on, improving air quality and restoring biodiversity. Moreover, empowering local communities through sustainable employment not only provides immediate relief but also equips families with the skills and resources needed for long-term self-sufficiency. This approach aligns with our mission to create lasting positive change and break the cycle of dependency.

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime

HOW

Our Execution Plan

The success of the Eco-Empowerment lies in its strategic approach. We envision a self-sustaining ecosystem. Here’s the plan:

  • Land Acquisition: We will rent 50 acres of land for a period of 5 years.

  • Tree Planting: On this land, we will plant 60,000 trees, with 1,200 trees per acre. These trees are expected to reach maturity and be ready for sale within 5 years.

  • Employment: The revenue generated from these trees will be invested in our Dates Tree Project. As of that project each family requires 240 trees, and with the earned amount, we can support around 125 families. The Dates Tree Project will provide each family with the potential to earn approximately PKR 64,000 per month for a lifetime, ensuring long-term economic stability. (For more details, please visit our Dates Tree Program.)

  • Sustainability: Families will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the trees, ensuring their growth and health. This approach not only provides immediate employment but also teaches valuable skills and promotes long-term self-reliance.
